the switch on the floor, next to the clutch, what is it?!

im in the middle of fixing someones mess of a wiring job in a 85 pickup w/22re. im good with wiring just never dealt mucjh with toyotas. so my question is, what is the little foot switch on the drivers floor board to the left of the clutch pedal?

Most likely some kind of arming devise, I would probably take it straight to the cops and let them take a look.

Id say its a sound bet that it is not factory, infact it sounds to be possibly nuclear what state are you in cause im not gonna be round when you accidentially hit the switch with your foot.. LOL hey have you tried flipping it and seeing what it does. If it does nothing then you get to decide how much you care, do you want to chase that middle eastern wiring job, or can you live with not knowing.... hhhhhmmmmmm

show us josh-why back in the day that was how my old Gremlin would switch from high beams to low beams and back again.

I miss those old foot operated switches like that...

It could be anything. Just have to follow the wires to where they go to. Ive seen hackjobs people have done to save a few dollars.

I think its called a courtesy switch but I still haven't figured out what it does.
