stalling prob fixed

hey guys i took all the emissions crap off the "offroad use only" 82 22r 4x4 i got. i was still having a stalling prob so i found i have an 81 emissions "computer" so its been replaced and when the truck would not idle intermittently id tap the computer and it would work suddenly. so anyways i went to bypass the computers control of the fuel cut solenoid. i saw in the haynes manual the computer controls a couple of the VSVs and the fuel cut solenoid. anyways what i did instead of hacking up my factory harness, i took the harness-side connector off another harness and worked it so i have a ground to the body, a factory connector to the 4-wire connector coming from the carb (the outer vent ctrl valve, the fuel cut solenoid, and the choke heater), and power is supplied to the outer vent ctrl vlv/fuel cut sol/choke heater by way of one of the old VSV ctrl connectors that had 12 volts w/ignition on. my question is two-fold:

1) is it possible for the choke, because it is dirrectly hooked up in with the power wire for the outer vent valve and fule cut sol + (pos) wire, to overheat or is it's heat regulated by something?

2) also, is it possible the VSV connector i used for power could also be controlled by the faulty emissions computer and therefore have its 12 V shut off while driving down the road causing the stalling again?

thanks
cory
