screeching turn singnal

i have an 88 pickup and when i use the right signal it just screeches what could my problem be?

sounds like the relay, had the same problem after a sandblasting guy didnt tape off my inside of my 4runner. bought a new turn assembly for 35.00 from a junk yard and was good to go. mine was not specificly the realy but the connection was not being made in the signal arm it self which set the relay a screechin.

The screeching has nothing to do with the relay. Its toyotas built in safety feature that tells you "Hey dummy, none of your bulbs are blinking" or "Hey dummy, you are not getting proper signal from the switch"

So, you either A. have burned out bulbs or B. a problem in your turn signal switch. Check the obvious first.

I didn't know it would make noise if your bulb was burnt, good to know, with mine personally it was the connections in the actual housing where the lever sits, due to sand getting in there. Thanks DC if i hear that horrid noise agian i will def. check the bulbs

i figured it out! the wires going to my brake/signal/reverse lights got caught under a bed mount and got worn down untill they broke a few new connectors and im good to go
