Power window puzzle
99 Tacoma PreRunner V6
OK, driver side window will not roll down. I dissected the door, found the quick connection to the motor and disconnected it. Took my multimeter and unexpectedly found that there is power at the connection. Now I'm not an electrician, but wouldn't this indicate that the motor is continually getting "up" power? Shouldn't there be no juice flowing to the window motor unless the switch is either pressed up or down?
As I write this I just got the idea to reverse the wires and see if the window rolls down, eliminating the need to remove the motor assembly. What could cause this? What do you all think my next action should be?
I have searched and searched the forums, but can't seem to find anyone with the same problem. This is my first post, thanks for any input, Mav.
BTW, great site! Truckloads of useful info here!

Continuous power
So I reversed the wiring and the window rolls down.... so it is continuously getting "UP" power. I'm going to take the switch apart and see if I can find any corrosion or abnormalities. Anybody got any other suggestions?

Yip... that was it. The switch had a little carbon build up. Shot it with ElecroKlean and Vwaaalah.... Works like new.
Wow, guess it does help to talk it out.
Oh yeah, this is the only problem I've ever had with this truck..... EVER. 114K miles! I love my Taco.
