Happy Thanksgiving.
A problem well-stated is a problem almost solved.
Start by clearly describing your problem.; which of the dozens of feet of wire on your truck was shorted and to where.
Then, use senses to find if anything is out of the ordinary.
Feel any wire getting hot?
See any burnt part or broken wires?
Hear any clicks?
Smell smoke or burnt wire/ insulation?
Then get a multi-meter, the important thing next to the senses. Harbor Freight is your friend.
