No passenger hi or low beams.

I have an 88 xtra cab and the passenger side headlight kind of doesn't work. Hi beam does not work and when the low beam is on, the light turns on but it barely lights up. The driver side hi/low beams work fine. Fuses are fine. I plugged in another light and it does the same thing. Very dim low beam and no hi beam. Any ides? THANKS!

I would look for a corroded plug or damaged wires close to that light .

Thanks for all the advice! Turned out to be a bad contact where the fuse is. Pulled it out, cleaned out alittle corrosion where the fuse goes in and now it works perfect.

Do you guys thinks the same solution would work for this:

No low beams on passenger nor drivers, only passenger high beam works, corners work fine, no high beam indicator. 88 toyota pickup.

Did it all happen at once? Might be a bad fuse for the driver side and the bulb on the passenger side might have just lost its low beam.

RAD4Runner build thread has a link somewhere on a headlight harness that can be bought off of ebay for a fair price. The way Toyota did the electric on these is a poor way of doing it. I am eventually going to replace mine with one when I get to it.

In my opinion, these trucks were designed for the standard headlights and most of us put in Halogen headlights and I think that just puts a strain on the whole harness and especially the combo switch.

As far as electrical troubleshooting, I am weak in that area, but would suggest cleaning all contacts checking your grounds.

Thanks BigBluePile. I did not know that and would rather give my business to Roger.

I purchased that kit before I had a Toyota to run 100/90 bulbs. This is a totally Taiwan produced harness and the wire size doesn't conform to the American AWG (American Wire Gauge) standard. Because I was unsure of the wire size used I cut one main power and ground end off to look at the actual thickness of the wire. I chose not to install it because it looked like the wire size falls at about 16 AWG and not any bigger. While that's ok for 55/60 watt bulbs and some HID's it's not so good with higher wattage bulbs. I don't think my 100/90 bulbs would have been real be real happy with that.
