on my 87 pickup the right headlight dim

So i've been returning my pickup to driving condition and the right headlight is dim and when i unplug the left headlight they both go off. I was going to switch them to see if it was the bulb but when they both went off with it unplugged. I thought I'd ask y'all what you thought the issue was. Do you think I got a defective headlight or is there a problem with the truck?

Check your plugs and the wiring .

It sounds like some one had problems and is running both lights off the one side.

Those are symptoms of ONE busted headlight fuse.

Those are symptoms of ONE busted headlight fuse. If you check schematic, you would see see leakage current in pink causing the side with blown fuse to still light but dimly.

If you disconnect side with the blown fuse, the other side would still light normally.
If you disconnect side with good fuse, that side would of course turn off (LOL!), and you remove source of leakage current, so side with blown fuse also goes out.

This is a know and absolute fact that Toyota headlight wiring is poorly designed.

Not an April's Fools joke.

Hey thanks for that! I did however already solve that issue. Friend of mine came over and diagnosed it with a voltmeter. Couldn't tell the fuse was blown by looking at it! Lol I checked it before I even posted.
