Hey so I'm new here and it looks cool so I figured I would just post my Question.

Has anyone used an off road remote controlled spot light called a golight with any measure of success. I was hoping to use a magnet mount for when I am camping and take it off the rest of the time. Any one had any luck with this product? It would look good on my 93 runner because the trucks white and the lights white. Anyway thanks for your input

phew, you could probably make something for FAR cheaper than $140, with 2 lights!

I've never used one, and can't say I would. Unless you have some pressing reason to use a spotlight like that... well, if you have a reason for a spotlight then that is an option. However there are cig-lighter spotlights, rechargeable lights, etc. that are far cheaper.

Don't know what year vehicle you have but if you don't need to be able to move the light around, for instance you don't deliver pizzas and don't need to light up addresses on mailboxes, etc., a high mounted bar and 2 good or 4 decent (not the besteses) lights would cost about the same. What I mean is a bar over the cab and some driving lights up there would light up a decent area as well as that light would, if you don't have to aim the light at something specific.

Also about 600 bucks, so sad. Prolly just go with some Hella or KC Hilights bolted to the bumper. Pics when Done. Thanks all.

 

that unit shown for about $140 looks pretty similar to some Recreational Vehicle (motorhome) units. That 400K candlepower is relatively low.

You perhaps could get by with a handheld million candlepower unit that is typically on sale at Checker/Schucks/Kragen?O'Reillys for like $20 or so.

If you want real driving or fog lights mounted to the bumper many of us run the Hella 500s and at $50 a pair or so online they are hard to beat. Maybe $90 a pair at a auto parts store so shop around. Hint amazon

ProComp (at 4WD parts for example) makes decent lights for the money and of course you can always spend a bunch more for other pricier brands out there.
