i couldnt find a place to put this so i decided to put it here.. i have just purchased a set of white led underglows to put under my truck.. can anyone give me some good advise while installing these or even some directions? thanks for any help

The LED tubes are VERY directional... Did you get 2 tubes or 4? What sizes are they?

I run two 4' tubes and two 3' tubes. They're both under the frame and zip tied to the sliders. The tubes are set side-by-side, with the "bias" of the 3' tube towards the front fo the truck. The inside tube is pointed a bit off-center to the inside of the truck, and the outside tube is pointed a bit to the outside... That'll give you the best "flood" coverage.

One thing to watch out for... try to protect the tubes as best you can - they're pretty fragile and if you take a hit on a log/rock, they'll crack, and when they do, the impact will generally be great enough to trash the LEDs right behind the impact, which will tend to render the whole tube useless. Believe me, I know.


Install wise, the two thread that Photoleif found will help you loads.

 

im getting 4 tubes.. 2 for the sided 2 for the front and rear.. they are 4' and 3'.. thanks for the help everyone

 

I put them on my brothers GMC pickup. I attached them to the framerails and up the sides of them to allow the rails to shield the tubes.

 

im putting mine right above my tow bar,, which gives me great protection, then in putting the ones on the sides on the inside of my frame rails, then my front one right on my bull bar.. its a little spot just big enough to fit my led light, thanks for the help.. i spent part of my day looking at were im going to put them and finding the holes to wire them.
