Horn not working

Exclamation Horn not working

86 Yota 22R...have replaced alot of the mechanical and fuses and such...horn element and wiring are complete...pressing the actuator on the streering wheel doesn't work... have hooked up another element and it still won't work...any suggestions appreciated...

does the horn work if you just give it power without dealing with the steering wheel button? if so, you need to replace the mechanism in your steering wheel

I'm willing to bet your horn contact pin is wasted, they are like $2-3 from the dealer.

Anyone have a pic or diagram of what this pin looks like? My horn stopped working awhile ago. I figured it was the horn, but it sill works if I bypass the grounding mech in the steering wheel. I thought it may be the wire harness, but that seems to check out. I figure it's unlikely the wires are damaged deeper in the electrical system and the issue is probably at the steering wheel. I've never removed the steering wheel before. Is this what I need to do to get access to this pin?

another cheap trick to fix your horn pin, use a .22 cal shell. It fits over the existing pin and work just fine
