I found a set of Hella FF1000 on ebay for $100 and converted to HID with tips from Rock Slide! And a set of headlights from Hella made them HID too here the pics

Just remember, if your HID ballasts get even the smallast bit of water in them, they'll short out. I know b/c I am on my 2nd set of ballasts. I thought the cases were better sealed than there were, but when I took them apart, I quickly found out there were not.

If you have not already sealed them, it would be a good idea to. I disassembled my ballasts and sealed each metal case with a bead of clear RTV silicone. I also shot some clear RTV at each connection point where the ballasts plug into the bulbs and where the wiring plugs into the ballasts. Just something to think about.

They are not projector but it does look like from the side wen lid. Yeah they are DOT approved

Yeah they are, I got a H4 HID kit from ebay just take out the stock 55w bulb and swith it with the bixenon bulb and the rest is MAGIC

can you post a pic of the ground coverage with the lights turned on? im still running the factory setup and wanting to get the hella conversion kit. how hard was it to convert the fog/driving lights to HID?

 

No not at all it was pretty simple. It only takes about 30 mins. Drill a hole for the ballast, plug the HID buld hide the wires and test before you put the grille.

Looks great. Do you have the HID kit in only the added Hella lights, or the headlights too? If just the Hella lights, it's fine to have a "blind me" kit because you *should never* have them on when traffic is coming towards you, or if there are vehicles in front of you.

I would seal those ballasts, I have heard of them shorting out if water gets inside. I potted my ballasts for my HID retrofit, look here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f28/...ogress-155478/

 

Thanks, I have A kit on the Headlights too, But I did aim them down I did notice they were very bright. The FF1000 I only use them off pavement Thanks For the Tip on the Ballast God Bless
