DRLs

Hi All,
Need to install daytime running lights to make my American purchased
truck Canada-worthy.
I talked to a Toyota tech and he said for a '99 4runner it's a simple relay matter.
Any help would be much appreciated!

thanks theAuthority, I came across this thread.
Maybe I'm missing it, but if there's a response to Daman's last post, that would help me out a lot.

Just find an FSM for your vehicle, you haven't really told us what your vehicle is.

Find the headlight wire that is activated by your headlight switch and run it to an accessory power wire. If you've ever hooked up a stereo it's usually the red wire, while the yellow wire is constant power.

So ANYTIME you turn your key to accessory or to start it, your headlights will turn on.

I have a used DRL relay from a 99 4Runner, it's yours if you want it. Don't know how easy it would be to install, maybe just plug it in or maybe some wiring would be needed. Or Canadian tire sells aftermarket kits for about $30

You will learn alot about the setup of DRL's for 3rd gen 4Runners by searching "fog light mod" as many have to deal with the DRL to allow for the independent use of the fog lights.
It is weird that some (US) model 4Runner in 99 had a DRL setup where others did not.
If yours did not it may be easier to just go and pick up the kit from Cambodian Tire.

I'm giving you the part free, I wasn't really planning on including delivery as well

Actually my wife works in Vancouver so we could probably work some thing out for next week. What part of the city are you in.
