2 quick headlight questions....99 runner

Hey guys,
Can anyone tell what the DRL relay looks like and where it's located.
By the battery? I only see the Airbag relay.

Does anyone have a drivers side headlamp assembly for sale?
Not sure how or why but my passenger side looks like chrome new and my drivers side looks like faded chrome with sheets of chrome flaked off the glass.
Obviously it affecting my light projection.
thanks, kenny S>

Kenny- Has the front of your truck been rebuilt? Sounds like one is an aftermarket. If so, yank that taiwan crap out of there and get a factory replacement. The aftermarket taiwan junk headlights are cheaper for a reason.

Btw, easiest way to tell: Toyota stamps their name into the plastic lens. Taiwan lenses will only say "DOT"

No........the drivers side glass is marked Toyota.
Has anyone been able to get the glass off of the plastic shell without breaking the whole thing?
If so.........I'll buy a can of killer chrome and rechrome the inside my self
35.00
I'm sure the headlight assembly is steep even used.
And I would'nt have to remove it................maybe!

Yep, DRL module is located in the engine bay, down between the battery and fender. Small black box.

Looking for a light for sale...here you go:

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f109...s-sale-149859/

Oh and you can take the glass off the housing of the light. You have to remove the entire light from your 4Runner, stick the light in the oven for 5 mins @ 350 degs. (This gets it hot enough to seperate the glue.) Then take it out of the oven and just get a screwdriver and pry off the glass lense off the housing.

To reattach the lense to the housing, just repeat the steps above. Only instead of trying to pry the lense off, just press them tighly together. To be extra safe, put a bead of clear rtv silicone around the seal once the light has cooled.

Thanks Rockslide and everyone else.
This forum does more than offset the crazy price of fuel these days and I can't imagine how much money I've saved over the last few years.

I may try and rechrome the headlight assembly with killer chrome just to see how it comes out and maybe throw it in the tech section as a bizarro rebuild.
