Before judging autozone, wal-mart, kragen and all the other retailers batteries, research JCI (johnson controls). they supply about 80% of the standard lead/acid batteries on shelf, sold by most large retailers.

On another note, two Crystal 12's, 1800W amp (yes rms), 1.0 farad capacitor, autozone valucraft battery (the cheapy), stock charging system, no issues what so ever.

Another thing to look at also, warranty. The best battery in the world will fail eventually, what good is it if there is a short term warranty.

how about a lifetime warranty? lol doesn't Optima have lifetime warranty's? i have no idea honestly..lol

i'm also probably going to end up with one of the Stinger batteries for sound systems (mall battery...about the size of a 4wheeler battery)

i was told by an audio guy, that the stinger battery is like having about 100 of the 1.0farrad capacitors...lol and it's only like $120 installed.

the same audio guy (TJ's Audio, Ft. Smith, AR) is going to be installing my entire system, and hooking up a NEW alarm/Remote start (yes...remote start on a 5speed 4runner , it comes in handy when it's REALLY HOT outside, or when it's REALLY COLD)

the alarm and remote start is a package deal and is $350 installed...but they might have to do something special to my runner cuz it's a 5 speed..so it'll prolly be more like $375.

install for my system (wiring is all...just want it to be well hidden..they'll run stuff under the carpet and such..and i wouldn't ever WANT to do that crap myself...too much work and i'm too lazy) will be like $150 i believe.

so recap here..

$120 for the stinger battery
$375 for the Alarm/remote start
$120 for wiring
~$100 for another used Type-R sub
~$150 for a used 1000W-2000W amp
~$150 for some new 6.5's and some dash speakers..maybe some tweeters.

that's a little over $1000.....my god lmao that will take some time for sure

chances are, i'll be running just the one Type R for a while..cuz it's been hard tryin to find a job :\

i won't be back into more REAL money until the summer time of 2011..i mean i'll get a job during the fall of this year and spring of 2011..but i probably won't have enough to be doin stuff like this lol

oh yea, lots of em..but no one is going to want to rip up the carpet and crap to hide the wires lmao.

if it wasn't 110* during the day, and 95* at night then i'd do it now...but no thanks!

i might try it myself, idk lol i'm a cheap bastard...lmao
