96 4 runner cruise control issues

96 4 runner cruise control issues
My 96 4 runner limited v6 is having some cruise control issues. It will turn on but when I hit set at a given speed(over 45) it will not engage. The green cruise control light begins to slowly blink. Anybody got some suggestions?

This link is for a cruise diagnostic on a 2004 corolla, I'm not sure if your 4runner has this capability or not, but being OBD2 I would guess it does. http://www.toyotadostlari.com/upload...se-Control.pdf
