93 P/U Weird Electrical Issue
I got a 3.0 5spd 4x4 @ 167,000. Had it about a year and a half now. Previous owner had CB equipment installed. After the altenator died last summer, I went through and removed all the loose wiring. About a month ago, the warning lights on the dash stopped working (Oil, Seatbelt, Door?, Low Volt etc.) Only the E-brake light comes on (and sometimes pops on when it's not engaged). Sometimes the low volt light will come on but will go out if I tap the cover over the fuse box (not synced with E-brake light randomness).
Anyways, went to go replace the all fuses and check for loose wiring around the fuse box last week. While pulling fuses, two of the terminals pulled out with them, but I think it might be those feed line clips you sandwich between the fuse to hook up something else, not sure. Just put them back around the new fuse and out it back in. Everything else looked fine.
Now yesterday coming home, It was early dusk and I switched on my headlights and the power seemed to die. Turned off and the RPM's came back. Radio would shut off then turn back on for a second then repeat. Went to drop off some equipment at my fathers house and the the truck wouldn't start after turning it off. Clicking from the starter and wouldn't take a jump.
Anybody got any ideas about whats gone wrong. Did I screw up the fuse box by pulling those two terminals? If it's the alternator again, then there some other problem. Any help please?
