'92 22re electric issue....

This problem has just started happening in the past two months. Sometimes when starting my truck it will fire but instantly die. I figured out that unhooking the battery and reconnecting it fixes the problem and my truck starts and runs fine. This does not happen all the time, maybe once a week. Any ideas on where to look for the problem. Is there something that would be reset when the battery is disconnected (ECU, EIF relay..???).

See if you have any stored trouble codes (before disconnecting the battery):

Then try the fuel pump test jumper:

I can't get codes because my dash board bulb is burned out.
The fuel pump and COR are brand new, so that's not the problem.
Any other thoughts??

Clean battery terminals. Check spark. Possible coil fauly. Check for ressitance. Tune-up? Vac leaks? Vac leak in main intake hose? Dirty Air filter?

Terminals are clean. It fires for a split second so it would be getting spark. Wires are a year old and distributor cap is brand new. No leaks and filter is good, not sure how that could cause an electrical problem.
Anything else? Are there components that are reset when the battery is unhooked?? It seems like that sort of thing would be the problem....???

Did you try the fuel pump test jumper? That will ensure he fuel pump is running.

ECU is reset by disconnecting the battery.
