80 headlight switch problem

80 headlight switch problem
My 80 has contacts going bad in the headlight switch. I found an 84 in the bone yard with the same turn signal/headlight switch and it feel real tight. Has anyone changed out just the turnsignal lever or do you have to R&R the entire steering collum to use the new turnsignal / headlight switch????
