Talking Your Best Beater Truck Story

Like title says. I wanna hear your best stories about little trucks that could. Kinda like the Indesturctible truck episode. What are some of the craziest things you have done to your truck, and it asks for more. Ill start.
My current 81 first engine: I had just put engine in, and was having a couple bugs. Charging at 17+ volts, minor water leak, and vac lines missing. But it ran, and I couldnt wait. So I took it to a camp ground, thats was about 100 miles away in bfe. It was in the mountains, so I had to rev it high, to get up some hills. Got about 1 mile from camp ground, and battery EXPLODED. Truck still ran. All lights and gauges blew. Still ran. Buddies got under the hood, thinking they knew what they were doing, and removed main vac hose that runs to air cleaner. Still ran. Lost about 1/2 water, and was running hot. Still ran. Could only pull 1st and 2nd gear. Made it all the way back home. And STILL RAN. Fixed the bugs, and it still ran for another 10000 miles. Not bad for a 500 dollar truck. I got 1 more too.
198? mazda b2000 2wd. Buddy bought it for 1000 bucks. Had 340000k on odo. We took it out every night. Beat the hell out of this thing. I myself must have jumped it at least 10 times. God knows what he did when I wasnt with him. Well about 6 months after we bought, and a whole lot of terror. It finally blew a headgasket. We didnt want to put the time into it. So we just kept driving it. It made it all the way from chico to humboldt county, about 300+ miles 1 way, with 75 psi in all 4 cylinders. Sure we were puttin, but it MADE IT. We then decided it was a good truck, and did the headgasket. 3yrs later, it still runs a drives fine. Needs a clutch tho. So lets hear your best stories, about our little beaters, that seem to do better then brand new vehicles.

Took a free 1975 toyota hilux rust-bucket down the freeway. Pushed it to 90 miles per hour. Me and my cousin drove it 200 miles down to a concert. Made it back as well. The only bad thing that happened was part of the floor fell out because it was so rusty. for the two weeks I was with my cousin we put almost 2000 miles on that truck. We:

Rolled it 3 times
Jumped it at least 10 times
Buried it above the axles in mud 3-4 times
Drove it into a river (and made it out) 4 times
Drove it into a river (and the cab went under) 1 time (good thing my cuz turned the motor off)

Part of the cab broke off because of rust, but other than that it still drove fine. It was my cousins DD for another 3 years, then he sold it to a friend of his for $500. Hands down best beater truck story of mine.

Well, It ain't a truck story, but its bitchin... I wanted a 4Wheeler to take muddin, so instead I got a mower for free, changed the pulleys and put a straight pipe with an echo tip on it, loud as hell, it even shot flames, I took the rev limit off of it, and pulled the throttle cable as far as it would go and drove it for three miles, steam pouring off the engine I kept goin, by the time I got to my house I think I literally melted the piston, needless to say the motor was locked up, the motor already burned oil, and the carb was shot, so I got a mower for free on spring cleanup day, with a 12 horse, put it on there, regeared it again so it would go like 30 mph instead of 20, and then sold it to a kid for a go kart with a blown 9 horse ohv motor, and a mini bike frame, he blew the motor that I put on it... that thing took some abuse!

yeah its fun when its going, the front articulates so much that the tires hit the motor if you max it out , Oh and if you air down the rear tires the rims slip on the bead, its pretty funny, It doesn't like being shifted on the fly either but I dont blame it, its had a hard life.

Well it's not a truck but my friend had this old 85 Hyundai Pony, man was that thing awsome little rear wheel drive car, was it ever fun to drive. It had been sitting in his yard and hadn't moved for years, we topped up some fluids and fiddled around with it for a bit and got it running, front wheel was ceased so we drove it around the driveway till it came loose. After that we put that thing throught hell. Launched that thing so many times the frame actually popped up into the trunck by the time we were done with it.

The best thing about that thing was when we took it through the mud pit, the jeep went throught first it was fine, then the car... no problem. 1/2 ton ford truck... stuck. that little car out performed the truck.

it never really died i guess, he just decided to cut it up one day. still got some fond memories of that car thought.

My first truck was a free 88 ranger, manual 4 cyl. One day at my dad's shop, about 15 miles from home, one of his outboard engines needed 2 plug wires. Well, my truck was parked there while I was working, so guess where he robbed them from! It ran like hell of course, but I drove it for 3 or 4 days before I made it to the parts house to get more wires.

i found it on craigslist for $1200. the tires were bald, the thing was gutted, seats barely on, gears not matching, bolts missing everywhere, drowned at least once, totally neglected and beat to hell.

so i decided to beat it to hell just a little more, 2wd style

and then it got stolen, from this spot. right after i left it.

...and it was brought back to me. the thief took all my camping/fishing gear and tools that were inside = -$3k. it's been living in a shop ever since.

i still have a lot more planned for it.. it's too tall and inflexible. the dumbass thief left his sunglasses under the passenger seat. and i know whose they were
