1985 toyota turbo diesel
Hey, not sure if this is the right area for this question but I have a 1985 toyota pickup with the turbo diesel the body is in great shape, there's 220,000 on the body and 10 kms on the motor ( rebuilt in 93, then stored ) The only issue with it is the frame is rotten on both sides under the box. I was going to build it but the shop wanted $5000 just to repair the frame My question is what would it roughly be worth to sell if I went that route ? Thanks in advance - I can provide pictures

Yea i'm in Canada - Near Ottawa. The body is in near mint shape it's just the frame they do salt the roads but it hasn't been on the road since 1993 but it was stored in a large steel container so maybe the condensation got to it ? Not sure but I can provide pictures to give a better idea !

It's registered unfit right now but I Could tow it no problem - Just not sure what to ask for price wise, or should I just put it up and say make an offer ? Issue with that is i don't know if it's worth $1000 or $5000 know what I mean ?

You could part it out but that’s a lot of work, shipping, responding, packing etc. If you fixed it I would have no idea on the going price. Very odd though that the frame is that trashed and the body is good…..that gen had issues with the bedsides rotting along with other areas. Finding a frame in good shape may be another hurdle but not impossible but a lot of work. I don’t know, lotsa choices, either dump it for cheap, build it for a lot of money, fix it to sell for???

Interested in your truck
Hey there im Matt and im definitely interested in your truck, I live in Denver Colorado and will be looking into approximate quotes to ship it here. What’s the story that you know on this truck? Does it have a title? Is it a manual or automatic transmission? Thanks for your time!

Thanks for all the info & Ideas ! - Hey Matt, brief story on the truck my grandfather bought it back in 85 as a company truck he owned a business in Toronto, then my dad took it to college and when I was announced to be born in 93 my grandfather rebuilt the motor and stored it up until last year when I finally went up to our cottage where it was located to bring it back finding out how much work the body needs made me decide to question how much it'd be worth to sell but don't get me wrong I know it's a one of a kind truck and isn't worth pennies - Building it into a mud comp truck is an option as well as just putting the roughly 8k Canada into it but i'm just looking at my options
No title, I have the ownership and it's current registered as " unfit" due to no safety, and it's a manual transmission

What about checking on getting a brand new frame from Toyota? Swapping a frame is not all that hard, just time consuming with the tedious stuff. Called my contact with Toyota and brand new frame is not available anymore. Wrecking yard from a western state may be your go to. 5k for a patch job would not be an option in my book

thanks for looking into that for me ! Unfortunately I'm in Ontario Canada so a western state would probably equate close to the 5k just to purchase the scrapped truck and then towing it back here. Maybe i'll try some Facebook groups !
Thanks for all the input !

I’m in Southern California and have a frame that is worth using. I can freight it to you on 3 pallets. Have no idea the cost. If you are interested contact me.
