wud you wrench on this past weekend?

so i helped a friend of a friend that owns a T100 do front disks and pads. we were struggleing to get the cone washers off (as usuall) when i go back the the shop to get yet another tool to try. and i hear him banging away.... I think oh hes just trying what i did no big deal....

well not really... seems he found the section in the hays manual that suggests you hit the stud straight on to jar them loose (which works but is my last resort) and was wailing away on the ends of the studs with my 2 lb ball peen hammer and quite prowd that he was garing them loose quite easly. :pat: :pat:

DUDE!!!!! what are you doing!!!! theres no NUTS ON THE STUDS!!!!! he looks up at me.. huh?

i say "try to put a nut back on there dufus! youve just peened over all the treads!"

oh he says as he stuggles in vain to start a nut.

so now ive got to go dig out the die and we get to watch as i case threads on 5 of the 6 studs for 20 min.

needless to say he was in fact learning how to do the job and what NOT to do.

and he gave me $80 for the "lesson" which i didnt ask for but hey.. bonus!

washed both bimmers and buffed the hoods and trunks of both as they had scratches on them from various "mistakes"

Tried (unsuccessfully) to get the TPS sensor just perfect. Last time I adjusted it from not reaching the idle setting (and hence, no base timing set), to it just missing at the beginning of the throttle. It's like nothing happens when I start to depress the gas pedal, and suddenly it kicks in.

still trying to get my 22re to quit ticking and squeeking, ended up pulling the oil pan and timing cover back off. Now I'm scratching my head, thinking about ordering a TC set from EB and looking for a dremel to clearance my valve cover.

Started building my granpas computer, called a couple junk yards about my Ranger, and was thinking about going out and finishing my bike, but decided not to. And then I had a choir concert...

Installed tranny cooler and cleared brush on a local trail so that it will stay open to vehicles.
