WOO HOO! Just scored a free arc welder and a bunch of steel!
I work in a light industrial park and the research/engineering company behind is moving-they had a machine shop on premises to fabricate prototypes and equipment for testing. I noticed they had a big pile of miscellaneous steel (angles, c-channel, box channel, etc...) sitting out so I asked and not only did they say I could help myself to that, they also said I could have an old 250A stick welder they had laying around for free I've been needing a rear bumper for a while plus was thinking about doing a back rack and about a million other projects-hopefully I'll be adding to my build thread soon

LOL...I know the feeling. I would always get jealous when I would look at build threads where guys just seem to pull all kinds of good stuff "out of the scrap pile out back..." Every steel supplier I've ever talked to quotes crazy prices for small stuff just because they don't want to deal with small orders. Now all I need is a good chop saw...

I hope you were able to salvage all the steel.
That was worth more then the welder.
I remember those old welders sold by Sears I think they were made by Century but it has been pretty long.
Yes he is not all that far away but on the wrong side of the river.
Good Score
