what yr for my next yota??

well guys and gals, i dont kno how much longer i stand not havin a yota, its killin me! so ive been thinkin about what yr i wan tto get and here are the two i narrowed it down to with what i want to do with it. give me some of yalls opinions on what yall think. i would liek to have a SA rig, but i always liked the thought of a really capable IFS rig with a low COG.

85 p/u reg cab short bed- Marlin Crawler 3in or 4in springs, 37x12.50s,5.29s, lockrites F&R, bed bob, Marlin front bumper, flatbed, possibly dual cases or either a singel 4.7,buckets, sliders, semi exo, winch yada yada yada

89-95 p/u reg cab short bed IFS- 5.29s, lockrites F&R, 35x12.50s, idler arm brace or total chaos idler arm, 4.7s, 1.5in bj spacers, 2in AAL, 1.5 or 2inch BL, cut/trim the fenders, bed bob, Marlin front bumper, sliders, tube doors, winch, custom rear bumper, buckets blah blah blah.

so what do you guys think? i would have alot better chance of findin a 3rd gen, but i see some 85s fro sale occasionally. feel free to add some things to either list cuz i kno i frogot soem stuff

if i could only buy one kind of vehicle it would be a 1st gen 4runner.

we have one.....it's beautiful and currently (well actually stopped for now) undergoing renovation....it's a 3.0 IFS. plnty of cons have been expressed about the 3.0, i guess we will find out.

if i had the money to buy 10 more vehicles, i would probably buy 10 1st gen 4runners....preferrably the 22re since i am more familiar with that engine.

am totally in love with my son's (age 13) 1988 4runner.

and as you can see from my sig line below......i (we) have 3 yotas........my baby is the '92......my wife drives the 2006 and my son will be driving the '88.

I like the idea of the 85. Always have. EFI with SFS is a nice combo. And the price is usually swingable

It kinda depends what you really want to do with it. For a trail ride, I'd definitely go with a 1st gen. For lots of highway driving, well an IFS rig with lots of power is gonna be more to my taste.

well if you make a decision we have a 89 standard cab with a 22re for sale on the NC/Vir border. Has around 170k miles on it with almost new 31x10.50s.

Edit: called dad it has 172k showing.
