was there some kind of designation for this setup (short bed small cab ect) or is it just a 1990 truck? It was repainted and all logos removed so I am clueless about it. I could provide the vin if that would help. Not even sure what the motor is . I like the truck but knowing this stuff would help.

If its a 4 cylinder, probley gots a 22re engine. Unless someone has stuck a 22 r in it. 22re is fuel injected, 22r is carburated. Basicly the same except for the injector ports in the head.

$700 is a good buy, that thing will probably run for ever. My brothers 4spd, 22r went about 350,000 no rebuild.

They offered carbs until 95 in 2wd

Its a standard cab pickup with a standard bed.

Could be a DLX, or could be an SR5 if it has a tachometer and full gauges.

As for the 'name' of the truck, it is a Pickup. Please don't ever call it a Tacoma. People who call their Pickup's, Tacoma's, should be ashamed. Nothing wrong with Tacoma's, but they came out in 95.5, and not a day earlier.

Congrats on the great buy. Welcome to YT.

No Tach but has spedo, fuel, volt, temp, and oil pressure guages. It is carbed. Not sure if the motor was replaced. It has Asin carb on it if it helps.
Other than a bad fuel pump and a few dozzen electrical problems it has been a dream to own and a blast to drive. I have met so many people thanks to the universal appeal these Yotas have and the way other Yota drivers will start conversations with you because you have one. Thanks for all the help and encouragment.
