Warn Winches M6000 vs. M8000

This is driving me crazy so hopefully someone knows the answer. I've been looking at prices for the M6000 and M8000 WARN winches, and sometimes the M6000 is MORE expensive than the M8000. That doesn't make any sense. And sometimes there are two M8000 winches listed on the same website, but one of them is $200 cheaper than the other, but the product descriptions are the same. What is the deal?

Don't bother with the M6000 as the M8000 is the most common and always on sale somewhere. Autoanything.com matches any price and ships free, great service too. Better safe than sorry when it comes to capacity.

Assuming you truly NEED a winch because you wheel hard stuff and when you get stuck, you are STUCK ...

M6000 is too small for your truck. You will have to double line pull EVERYTHING, and will be worthless if you are seriously mired or to pull out heavier rigs than yours.

M8000 you will probably still have to double line pull alot.

M8000 and it's usually cheaper than the M6000. It must be the quantities sold. I bought mine from GoWarn.com. It's on sale right now for less than $600 with free shipping. Mine arrived within a few days.

The 10K smittybuilt is around $500; as far as differences in price I don't know; why some appear identical other than the fairlead & are several dollars different in price.
