For those of you who are Curious..Smittybuilt XRC8 Winch

Ok, I just got my first shipment of 5 XRC8 Smitty Built winches.. I broke one open to check it out, I must say, I am more then impressed with this little winch. It looks to be built with all Mile Marker components, the magnets are big and strong, construction rivals much more expensive winches.. Im going to be putting on to the test this weekend... I've always been very biased and pushed warn as I am a "Red Letter Dealer" with warn and handle milemarker and superwinch... These Little SB XRC8 look like theyre gong to stand up to the bigger names as in essence IT IS a Mile Marker winch, just with a Smitty Built Sticker in it... HTH anyone who has been looking at these.. They sell fast and niether of my big distributors can keep them in stock....

Mike

Its not going to be before long some figures out they can sell these winches for 475.00.....

I been eyeing those for a while, but quality was my concern. So thanks for cracking one open and sharing the knowledge.

No they are slower then the warn.... I hooked one up on my yota last night and pulled my old power wagon around... Wasnt much of a "stuck"test but it pulled it up hill in gear.. My powerwagon has 10 inches of lift and 40 inch TSL's, the little winch didnt sneeze or fart at me.. looks like its going to be a very good value for a budget winch.. I will go get the wagon stuck in a mud hole up on king mountain this weekend and see how it handles pulling that big old pig out... I am gong to also try it with a snatch block and see what happens also.. I will keep this updated, with pics to follow eventually...

I'm interested too... What is the bolt pattern on the winch like? What does it come with for accessories?

It comes with everything a Warn would... Roller Fairlead, Remote Tether and all nessecary wiring... As for the mount pattern its the standard mount, same as warns 10k and below winches and mile markers...

Line speed?

Generally, MileMarker = glacial line speed, god forbid you have to double line pull (which you will with an 8k lb winch)

wow that's an awesome price. I'll be buying one very shortly at that price. As soon as my next pay check comes through, I'll be ordering one.
