that adjustable suspension is the nicest thing about that Surf! other than that and the RHD its a diesel 4Runner. now if it was a SSR-G like mine, oh man that would be a good price! the SSR-G is soo fully loaded. its not a bad price for a SSR-X, the adjustable suspension is really REALLY handy!!!!

While on the trail, it's not going to be a big deal, but in the rest of the real world, it could become pretty obnoxious to live with. Drive ups would be useless to you, unless you want to back through them. Passing becomes an adventure unto itself, unless you have a navigator along. Toll boothes could pose and interesting problem, too (if you have to deal with them).

If this were being bought as a weekend toy, no big deal - but I think it might get old pretty fast as a daily driver.

I was at the Royal Canadian Museum a few weeks back and there was one of those outside just idling. I heard the diesel engine, and did a doubletake! I wish that it would be easy to import one of those here.

how hard can it be to bring to the states? my exp bringing motorcycles back and forth has been pretty easy in the past. as far as the "hassle" of a rhd...ya, i get what you're saying but.... i personally don't deal with drive throughs often enough for this to be a prob for me. as for passing? how is that different?

Those things are junk. The diesel in those things has SERIOUS head issues. Most of the dealers/importers here won't sell them anymore. At least the reputable ones.

As for using the right hand drive as a DD, you get used to it pretty fast. AS for the passing issue. It's a diesel Toyota .... who are you passing?

Seriously though it isn't that big a deal. I've been driving a RHD corolla 4wd wagon for 1.5 years now and it's great.

thanks for the heads up! and this is yet another reason i love this place. good to know about the heads before i went and looked at it. from what i've seen on ebay people were swapping over to the 3.0 head? if you know, could you tell me the years or models of diesel 4runners to get? seems like canada would be the place for me to find one. thanks
