Which of these wheels

Well I walked outside today and my front left tire was about halfway flat. I think it can be fixed with some fix-a-flat, but just looking at that poor bald tire made me realize just how much I need to get some new ones. Well i've decided on some 33x10.5/15 BFG Mud Terrains but now I can't decide between these 2 wheels. I'm familiar with American Racing and know they make good stuff, but have never known anyone who owned some U.S. Wheels. Also, the offset on them is a little different so if either one will help the tires fit on the truck better then that's a plus. These will be going on a stock 1990 standard cab pickup. I'm okay with either one, I was just gonna see if anyone on here had an opinion about one of them.

Not a big fan of the first one but that second one looks exactly like the U.S. Wheel minus the red line on the lip. I actually kinda like the red line though and the U.S. wheels are a little bit cheaper, so I think I'd rather go with them as long as it's a quality wheel. I think i'm just gonna go with them unless anyone has any objections regarding the quality that they'd like to add.

Thumbs down BeadLocks

I have steel wheels and I scratched and ruined one and now have an air leak in that tire. BeadLocks are highly advised. They protect your wheels. Here in Colorado, I got in over my head on a rocky trail. My friend kept pushing me to go on and drive the dumb dead end trail, I'm sure you know if you're from Colorado. I crawled some boulders and wish now that I had bead locks because the scratch is gigantic and now I have a leak too. Those beadlocks turn a 8" wide rim into a 10, so there's some cost saving there. The beadlocks aren't very street pretty, but neither are the 33's that you plan on getting. Just my advice, BeadLocks and forget about looks.

I dont need beadlocks around here, we don't have many rocky trails and i avoid the few we do have. After my SAS i'll be getting a set of dedicated off road wheels and tires so that's when I would be looking at some beadlocks but for now i'm just looking for a cheap wheel to use for daily driving and weekend backwoods mud trail driving.

Yea. I'm still deciding. I don't really like the style of those cragers but for the price they can't really be beat. That leaking tire finally went out, I figured it was just a small puncture from something but it turns out it's so wore down that it's got a bubble in part of the tread (scary) so i'll be buying new tires immediately. Thanks guys, i'll let you know what I end up with.

While we are on the subject, does anyone have any reasoning why you shouldnt buy steel wheels vs alloys?

The only advantage alloys hold is their light weight.

Steelies are cheaper, wont break apart, and can be fixed with a hammer

That has always been what i thought, many other people claim alloys are better, doesnt make any sense if we are right though...

And not all alloys are lighter the ones I have now are SUPER think and have a 3400 lb rating, most welds are 3200. They are REALLY heavy, I havent compared yet since I always have rubber on them, but I want to weigh them next to my steelies. But OEM aluminim rims are really light

rotors question

i know this is off topic but... recently i got a set of drilled and slotted rotors. it seems they made a mistake whlie slotting one side of them and made the slots connect with the drilled holes. they couldn't sell them and gave them to me without charge. i'm concerned about putting them on.

does anyone know if these are safe or does it not make a difference?

I wouldnt put them on, drilled, slotted and cryo treated are just bunk. NASCAR runs blanks, just regular old brembo blanks..

I'd ride 'em to look cool and then after they get to where they need to be turned, you may be forced to ditch 'em. Very few shops have the machine that can turn drilled, slotted rotors. The slots are to remove brake dust and the holes are there to reduce weight and cool those suckers. That style was created for funky curvy euro racing track beasts. I have a friend into all gadgets and gizmos that are automotive. This guy needs a sponsor. It's like beating your head into a wall after a while when you're funding an addiction like some auto junkie. He spends way too much hard earned money just to watch it go up in smoke, literally. Don't be too caught up in speeding up a hamster wheel, you'll get off right where you jumped on at, left with everything that you started with, nothing.

Despite the nascar thing... I will disagree with that. they made a HUGE difference on the braking power of my dads 97 K2500 burb. They stay much cooler, and cooler brakes are stronger brakes.
