Thanks for your support... settled the totalled 2nd gen
Thanks all.
I finally had to let go. It was becoming an obsession and was not healthy.
I have agreed to a figure a little higher than the first offer but still someway short of what I feel it will cost to replace the truck.
RIP...

I just had to decide if any more brow beating and frustration on my part was worth it. On the plus side, the adjuster who told me "to negotiate better so I can buy a vehicle for what we are offering you" did receive a reprimand from an area manager after my Agent intervened. He was also moved from the file at my request so that I did not tell him how I felt.
Truck should get towed today while I am at work. It will be easy to tow as it has 15 gallons or so less gas in it than it did last night...
To be fair, out of sight, out of mind.
Time for my new project
If it is not another 2nd gen, keep an eye on the classies. I have rims/tires, OME stuff, rebuilt Aisins, cat back etc etc.
Thanks again,
David

Not to make you think about it more, but what kind of flares are those and how far did they stick out - been looking for some like that, but I don't want/need them to stick out more than 1.5" or so.

Hope you find a real steal for your next project. Sometimes to-good-to-be-true deals fall right into your lap and I think you've earned some good karma recently for how you handled this. What was the final settlement?

They stick out around 2" , prolly 2.25" as suggested above.

Good to hear it settled in your favor. Insurance companies are a real PITA when it come to that kind of stuff. You pay them all that money in premiums and they stick it to you when you need them most. Sometime I'll post a link to my sob story with Progressive a couple years back. Short version: They cancelled me for no reason, didn't notify me, and i found out when I wrecked my car.
(Not to be a vulture, but where in VA are you? I'm in central MD and if you wanna offload some stuff, lemme know

Glad you are moving forward. I didn't wreck my 1989 4runner, but had to sell it due to a divorce, I was mad until I got my 1985, now I have a new love. Sometimes change is good.
Best Wishes.
