Stalking a Yota you see on the road.

I'm sure most of you'll have done it before once or twice. But just today I had my first Yota stalkage. As i was standing at the gas pump ealier, i noticed an elderly man in a super clean, original Toyota pickup. My first reaction was to stop the pump and chase him down. So I did just that. LOL. I caught up to him 5 miles up the road and flagged him down. We chit chatted for a minute or two. And he invited me over to his house. As it turns out, Jim is the proud original owner of this all original 1988 xtra cab SR5. I immediately asked if he'd like to sell his beautiful rig. His answer "no". It's all good. I don't even need another pickup just yet, I just thought it be really nice to own such an immaculate machine.

Here's Jim's 88' SR5 V6 5sp 4x4. He bought it back in 88' at the Toyota dealer where his son worked. Topper is original straight from the dealer as well. Pictures just do not give enough credit to the originality of this pickup. Most of the routine maintenance was done at that dealership too. Dang, how bad ass is that? He said he'd didn't think he'd ever sell it, and just kept for the rest of his time here. I thought to myself. Yeah he'd never have to think about selling it in the condition it's in. It'll last well over after he passed away. LOL. Really, glad to have met this Ol' Toyota owner, and his beautiful Toyota pickup.

He did have different kind of toy he's selling. I've been looking for one just like it for some time now. It's a nice little boat for the shallows. Perfect size too for my 22RE to pull around too. Hopefully i can score this one.

That's the plan Bobby. When we "test" out the boat, 1 or 20 times. We'll bond more and hopefully he'll remember me, when he is ready to pass this sweet truck on.

This is half a Toyota. I have been seeing this truck off and on over the years.
Early 50's Chevy truck on an IFS Toyota frame. Even has Aisin Hubs
you can see the IFS:

Red face

I can see you doing that in Texas.

Around in this part of the world it is likely to get you shot or at the least have the police called.

It is one thing to see a vehicle at the quickie mart or Auto parts store but to follow and attempt to have them pull over .

Interesting for sure.

There was a wrecked 3rd gen pickup on a flatbed going down the highway and I followed it for about 20 miles on my way back to my house from college. There is a junkyard nearby house and he didn't turn off the exit that leads to it which was disappointing. I'm still not sure where it went. There was a sweet rollbar in the back that I definitely would have swiped.

Also, my neightbor has two 3rd gen pickups sitting in his driveway, one with bad brakes. I've been scoping them out for years

Yep, but those boats are used mainly for the shallow waters in the bay. We're only 20 minutes away from the Gulf of Mexico. Fishing here is great.
