Susp. Lift - Rotate Rear Axle?

As part of my '85 4Runner rebuild I'm adding 2" OME springs and 5" shackles for about 3" of lift overall. In my research on this board I've seen Wabbit say that the correct way to do things is to cut the perches off the rear axle and rotate it so the 3rd member flange is pointing at the transfer case. The idea being that a straighter driveshaft will reduce stress on the U-joints.

That makes sense, so I was planning to do that. Then I found some threads where 4Crawler said pinion should be parallel with the output flange to avoid driveline vibrations.

That also makes sense to me, so now I'm confused and I'm hoping you guys can help me out. Should I rotate my axle or not?

Fair enough. Is the amount of lift too little to worry about rotating the axle?

Thanks!

Does not matter what amount of lift you have. It depends on what type of drive shaft you have:
