Woohoo! I got mine yesterday. I took a quick glance through it real fast, and it is sooo awesome! It was only a 5 minute glance, I already learned some stuff.
Didn't take long to get here--only 5 days since I ordered it.
Maybe it's becuase I'm in a big City or something.
Great magazine!
Keep up the good work!

Wow allot of negative comments? I wouldn't care if the magazine was a complete piece of toilet paper for the first issue. (Which it is not) I'm just glad someone had the forward thinking to come out with an all Toyota magazine. To bash it seems a little counter productive coming from people who love there Toyotas.
Don't get me wrong constructive criticism is fine and I think 4wd will lesson and hope to improve the magazine even better than it already is.
As far as the article on the super expensive truck goes, I can kind of relate to the mind set of WHY? I remember back when Robert Canon sased his 99 Toyota I thought that was the biggest waste of money. Since then I have wheeled with Robert canon and numors runs and have the ut most respect for him! The fact that his truck drives all over the country to wheel is pretty respectable too!
The owner of this 05 Tacoma Wyatt already had a 02 Tacoma. It was during the Donahoe 05 build up I talked him into selling his current toy and starting with a new one. Some may ask why? This is why, to be the first, to prove we could, and Wyatt wanted a comfortable family wheeler. Oh and his penis is really small too..lol
when you look at it from the article it may seem really expensive, but Wyatt has been paying for these axles for 2 years currier has been nice enough to hang on to them and change them twice. And if you also consider when he is done he will have a reliable rig that doesn't need a trailer or a tow rig (how much do those cost?).
I personally don't know what makes more since a guy who drops 5k on a 1000.00 20 year old truck or a guy who spends 7k on a 3 month old truck. If my mother in-law had anything to say about it they would both be crazy!
Back to the magazine. I know everyone is entitled to there own opion. Please give this magazine a chance and wait to see what comes out of it next.
I for one love the magazine; it's the first one I got in the mail I want to read cover to cover, even the land cruiser stuff?
Oh and if anyone is still waiting for there's and your in the area let me know I have a stack of them.

I've been watching this thread (and have enjoyed the magazine several times now), and even with the edited stuff pulled, there hasn't been a lot of negative comments here at all. Directed feedback of "what I'd like to see" is about all that is here except for the "Where's mine?!?" whines.
(Ok, bulk mail or no, it does seem to be taking a while to hit the streets, but hey... growing pains).
I just can't wait to see what everyone else has to say once they have it in their hot little paws!

When I read your article, I was just awestruck. That's the kind of operation we all just *wish* we had the gumption to do!
For me, it's strictly fantasy-land, but that's ok. I had a cold shower waiting in the next room.

I finally got my mag today. I have never seen so many 40's, 60s, on overseas 70, and a couple 55s all in one place. I was in heaven. I would love to get my hands on a 70.
As to the magazine I think it was great. Yeah there are some things I want to see, but I am biased to 3rd gen P/Us since that is what I have. I thought the articles were good, no they were great. What other magazine are you going to see a tech write up on a FJ40? I don't own one, but it was awesome just reading the article and learning about another Toyota rig.
I don't understand anybody's grief about doing an SAS on an 05? Yeah it's going to cost more than doing say a Taco or a 3rd gen P/U, but in Demello's case it's money well spent in my opinion. They own a fabrication shop doing exactly what they are doing to the 05 Taco. Believe it or not they could write the expense off as advertising and a lot of other nooks and crannies in the arcane world of taxes. A custom fabrication shop of any kind whether it be: rigs, furniture, houses, or any thing that is special made needs to have in your face proof of their capability and workmanship. I would have thought that WabFab would have understood this since he has his own fab shop. Not razzin you WabFab just making a generalized point using you as an example.
Another thing I noticed in some of the above posts was:
"There is not this, that or the other gen rig write up or something"
I beg to differ. I, looking through the mag, saw these rigs:
1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen 4runners
1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen P/Us
every year of taco except 97, 01, 03, and 04
FJ40
FJ55 with removable top
FJ55 solid lid
FJ60s galore
FJ70
FJ80
The mag didn't stop there though like most do in just telling what rig it is. They even gave a list of what the rig is running in most of the captions. So each reader has the ability to see what other people are running, fab jobs, and whatever else.
The advertisement about rigs from around the world may be misleading, but it is not false Granted there is not dedicated section to rigs from around the world, but they are in the mag. I am talking other than the ARB thing. You just need to look for them. Think of it as a where's Waldo game
I am done
*Disclamer*
At no point in my post was I throwing dirt, bitc#$%* some one out, calling someone stupid, or whatever. I was giving my opinion and trying to answer some questions and clarify some points.
Good mag, definitly worth it, and I want the next one now.
Man, now I need a cig.
