My mod to fix a rattling truck tailgate, used spring I had laying around...

Instead of doing a repeat from another Yotatech thread, click on link below to show my fix, I did same mod on my 87 toy in 97 so I thought I put it on here after I did it on my just acquired 93 with pics and description. Enjoy:}

This lil mod right here cost me like 5 bucks and took away all rattle from the stock tire carrier!

washers, 5 bucks
5 min to install, negligible
No more latch rattle from tire carrier? PRICELESS!

i dont use the ac either but ive been toying with using the compressor for air for a while...anyone done this? i work as a diesel mechanic for big rigs so tons of extra air tanks lying around

tool box lights are my favorite mod. cut out slots in the latch housing on the lid and wired lights through the bed. got a cut switch in the cab but gonna use the pressure switch that came with the security system that the last guy has on it... guess no one informed him that the only person that would EVER consider wanting that truck would be toyota owners that have more self respect than that.

sorry got some more...
im cheap mod king!

already got the tool box but wanted something to hold smaller stuff and easier to get to...flexed out rear suspension and voila! theres plenty of room where the fenders are. cut out the top of the fenders to make a lid. bent some metal into a box, riveted the box in and attached the fender that i cut off to some trick hinges i got off another of the volvo trucks i gutted. i got to get some picks up cause noone believes it works.

I know theres.debate about if this really helps but I see it more as something fun. Im using fiberglass to make an airbox for my K&N. I made a form of the bay underneath the filter and Im building up the sides around it. When all thats done Im gonna sand it and put another layer on it and cover it in heat paint and a plexiglass lid. Here it is with the bottom and 2 sides
