what type of fan do you have on it? There are a few additives that are out there that are supposed to help but airflow has to be your biggest issue. A little more info would be helpful... Oh.. and welcome to YT

at low speeds it seems to take longer to heat up but high speeds it heats real quick

Do not try an additive, such as Water Wetter, they don't work, and yes I was one of the stupid suckers that tried it, save your money.
Make sure your system is properly "burped" and doesn't have any big air pockets trapped in there, sounds dumb but, it makes a difference.
If you are running headers you may want to wrap them, thats a tight engine bay for all the heat that would come off of headers.

Almost forgot, make sure your fans are going the right way. I have seen other guys mess that up.
Are they pushing or pulling?

Not to piss you off but, you said the fans were in front, if that means between the grill and the radiator, your fans should be "pushing" and you should be able to feel the airflow on the other side of the radiator.
If the fans are mounted between the radiator and the engine, then they need to be set-up for "pulling".
Sounds like an easy concept but, I have done a lot of drag racing and have helped diagnose lots of cooling problems with fellow racers at the track, you would be surprised at how many guys screw that up!

I neglected to ask the very most important question.
How long have you had this problem?
Is it recent and at one time it cooled properly or has this always done this since going "Chevota"?

Start simple and work your way through the entire system.
I suspect it has always had a problem.
I hate to say it but, it can also be an actual engine problem, check your oil for water.
Do a search for threads where guys have done a swap, see what they are running (radiator, fans), you may still be under-sized.
