Rock puts hole in oil filter ???

Hello all, I am a long time "lurker" around here put this is my first post.

I have a 1998 SR5 4runner that over the weekend I discovered to have a bad oil leak. I slid under the truck with a flashfight and found a dent in oil filter. The leak seamed to be comming from a small hold within the dent. I don't do much offroading with the truck, but it appears that I have taken a rock hit to my oil filter. I do not see how this happend with the skidplate.

Has anyone else heard of this?

I changed the oil and all is well!

Thanks!

That's some mighty bad luck! Glad you noticed it before things got bad.
