Repairing an aluminum oil pan

I have an aluminum oil pan with a few hairline fractures in it, just enough to leak some oil.

I am thinking of welding it and saving the money, would the best way be to heliarc it or would brazzing suffice?

Has anyone had experience with this?

Heliarc would be the best option if you have access to a machine. Otherwise brazing should work ok IMO

If you have to ask, you're better off buying a new one, or trying JB Weld or something similar.

Welding aluminum is tricky, and it will easily warp and you'll have a helluva time getting it to gasket/seal properly.

Must not be for a Toyota huh?

If its that expensive, it would probably be a good idea to pay a professional welding shop to have it repaired.
