Unhappy Poor bumper...

Since I got my runner (92) over a year ago, she has been begging me to black her nasty chrome exterior outfitting.... I got all the supplies, my grill out and ready to semi-satoshi, got the 4 main bolts off, went to the passenger side to get the single bolt that holds it there, and it SNAPPED the bumper came off that side so I can figure something to remount it. I go to the driver side, and not only will this bolt NOT break, it will not MOVE.... Ive pounded twisted yanked pulled, PB blasted, then repeated the first process, even yelled at it some and... nothing
Overall I'm hurt...

Just needed to rant a little

look at it this way, at least your previous owner didn't put the wrong year rear bumper brackets on using 1 bolt per side and weld the other side of the bracket to the frame. Took me two weekends to figure out why the bumper wouldn't come off the truck. Till I realized it wasn't rusted on it was welded.

Heat it with a torch a bit if you can, even a micro pocket torch works. I've got a 90 4runner with what seems like welded in bumper bolts, and that's what i had to do lol.

LOL!!!! That's terrible but funny. Having said that I did in fact weld a MC rear bumper for an 86 pickup onto my 89 4runner, it's going to take a torch to get that thing off of there!

lol. I would expect a MC bumper to be welded on, but not 89-95 style brackets attached to a POS FEY step bumper.

*laugh* If I could afford a set I'd do it, or if I had better access to a welder and some steel. Been out of work since December, unemployment is a joke and I've only got about 12K in savings so I'm trying to live thin. Thank goodness I've got everything paid off......
