3rd

Just traded in my 2nd gen for a 3rd gen and it's a 50/50 split on how I feel about it.

The 2nd gen wasn't as nice, but I kinda liked it for that reason. The 3rd is a little more luxurious than my personality. Cost of problems compared to cost of trade in meant getting rid of it was financially the right thing to do.

I still miss it though.

Fell in love with the body styling, hood and front end.

That's why I ended up with a

2 nd Gen

I knew if I ever was to get an SUV it would be a 4Runner plus my mom has a '00 Limited and I really liked how it drove. I even thought 1st gens were something special back in '85 when I was in HS before the term SUV was really known.

I went with a 3rd gen since I couldn't afford new and they seem to have the fewest issues and more power was a consideration with the 3.4L.

I've had this 4Runner for 2 months. As soon as I replace the shocks/springs it should be a sweeeeet ride. I didn't know crap about which brand to purchase but I did a search and about six thousand topics showed up. Popular subject.

Another 3rd gen but I wish they had solid axles and leaf springs front and rear like in 84-85.

I totally dig my first gen! I can't help but like the others as well though! After seeing what some guys have done to thier 2nd and 3rd's mine almost seems OLD! Every gen has a nitch in the Runner Hall Of Fame! I will say this though, The Tacoma Rocks also!!!

The 3rd Gen all the way. It's OBDII, but still has some of the old tech in it. Just wish mine didn't have the ADD in it. At least there's the conversion kit.

Not just 1st gen but first (half) model year runner.
You gotta love the solid axle, you gotta love the convertible top, and you gotta love that traditional do everything yourself carburetion.
