I just bought a fuel pump last week from them. Installed it Saturday and ran fine all week, but today I noticed a loud scretching sound coming for the gas tank. Im assuming its the new fuel pump.

Anyone have any experience with them?

 

Usually the parts are ok, just about like Autozone, Napa, Advance, Checkers, etc. I've never been a big fan of their prices but for the most part they were ok. It's not all that uncommon to get a bad part too. A lot of people are going to say always go OEM but we both know that we can't all afford that sometimes.

I'm assuming it came with a warranty. Even if it didn't they might not give you too much hassle with it only being a week old or so.

 

I'm going to drive it tommorrow and see if I hear that sound again. Should you normally be able to hear the pump standing next to the truck where the tank is or are they quiet?

 

All electric pumps are going to make a certain amount of noise, but for the most part it shouldn't be heard very well over the vehicle while it's running. You can hear them pressurize the fuel lines before you actually start it. Once it's started they're usually quiet.

 

If you decide to purchase an aftermarket fuel pump, look (or ask) for one made by Beck/Arnley. They are second best to OEM.

 

my rule of thumb for OEM,alway for any kind of electrical parts.non working may be a different story(brake rotors,drums,things like that)at least price oem you may be surprised.ya also gotta think whats your time worth.i don't wanna drop that tank any more than needed

 

I drove it around today. Didn't hear anything unusual, guess I'll see how the week goes. It operates perfect though!
