How about some pics? Hard to give an opinion if we don't know what you are working with, ie., what color your truck is, what wheels you have that you want to paint black.

BTW, Welcome to yotatech.

3m stripe remover is a good way to remove stripes. my dad always did the cheaper way on his cop cars to remove the stripes, wich was heating a razor blade with a propane torch (could use map gas etc. but propane's easier because its the coolest) scrapaing and peeling the stripe away, them getting the glue off with stage 1 rubbing compound and a wool buffing pad.

also, if you want to paint your wheels, i'd highly reccomend powdercoat. strong stuff. whenever you get stuck in mud and spin your tires, its bassicly like a sandblaster, so rattle can, or spraying them with the air compressor, will usually wear off after time

Nice looking truck man. The easiest way to add pics is to upload them to a photobucket account then copy and paste the image code into your posting. I tried doing this for you with the pic from your profile but it didn't come out any larger than your avatar. Should work fine if you use your original.

Anyway, my opinion, I kinda like the blue stripe, it adds that Toyota character. However if its chewed up or pretty sun damaged, as many are, I can understand why you would want to get rid of it. Looks like you've got some sharp looking wheels, I'd say you could go either way with them, but like 85gijunk4x4 advised, you would be much better off with powdercoat rather than rattle can if you decide to paint them.
