I just got a new flowmaster 40 series on my truck and its not loud enough for me. Is there any way to make it louder without changing the exhaust or is that a stupid question. thanks

Pics to come later...

it could..put a magnaflow hi-flow cat on if you can..

and a 2.5" exhaust will be deeper than a 2.25 exhaust..i know this for fact lol i've ran both on my truck lol

and a full tailpipe won't be as loud as a turndown

I've heard the flowmaster 40 is pretty darn loud, especially with doug thorley headers. Weird, how loud do you want it to be? I think I remember you posting that you didn't notice any throttle response difference with the headers. I find that kind of odd as well. Maybe your intake is a little gunked up thus restricting air flow? How's your air filter?

make the cat detachable.... if you know how to weld, its pretty easy. basically just throw your cat back on 1 month before smogging, and you'll be good. take it off for 2 years when you get it smogged and repeat... Its what I did, and I passed. I'm also in california.

it almost sounds stock, just a little louder and deeper. i had no muffler on it for a day and that sounded awesome, just gave me a headache everytime i drove it cuz it was so loud and i couldnt hear my music. i did post that, but now i realize that it does have more power, just not too noticeable. my carb is pretty dirty so i need to clean that, and i will check the air filter. everything def needs to be cleaned tho

thanks for the help

Sounds nice, I've got the DT, pipe for cat, 2.25", and a glasspack. Was fun for the last several years but getting old now especially after deleting the cat. I don't have a gas pedal I have a loud pedal

I have got to get me one of those mufflers. My thrush turbo is nice and all but I love the sound of these things. Only thing is I don't have a cat either. Just straight up 2.25 from the downy header.
