New Bespoke Stainless Steel Exhaust

Hi y'all, had a new exhaust fitted yesterday, as mine had rusted and partly fallen off, and it failed it's test

So I had a stainless steel one fabbed to fit, and used a side exit through the bumper, to get it away from any obstacles whilst offroad (wheelin')

I turned out really well I think, and I am very pleased with it

id grind it off a lil more flush with the bumper, then get like a gromet, or trailer tail light ring to go's inbetween the pipe and bumper! plus it will look better!

Grommet may help keep it from making noise from metal to metal contact.

Does it make any noise now from the tip hitting the bumper?

Yeah, it doe touch now and again, but not all the time, I think he should have cut the hole just a tad bigger, but the end of the exhaust may just need a "tweak" to get it centralized.

I'll give it a twist and a kick at the weekend.

Looks really nice, clean install too. I was actually thinking bout that method to keep mine out of the reach of rocks and other obstacles until I got my Marlin Crawler rear bumper. I ended up cutting the exhaust right after the rear axle and welding on a turndown. Works great and the emissions guys didn't have a problem with it last month!

Good job,
Andy

He hehe, I've decided to get a suspesion and body lift next month, so the exhaust will have to be "adjusted" to accomadate the body lift.

I'll just cut the back end off to do the lift, and get the guy to refit and weld it once that's all sorted.

The reason I had to get the exhaust done first, was that I didn't have the funds, and the MOT ( ministry of transport) test was due, and it failed on the exhaust, so I get two weeks to get it fixed and retested, so it had to be done in the wrong order, but that's life I guess, things don't always go to plan.

actually stainless really holds its heat, it wont drip the grommet but it will atleast get really dry and heat cracked and may even melt a little.

looks good tho!

agreed! maybe a rubber gromet is not the best idea. i was just thinking that it would have more of a finished look if he had some sort of ring to fill that gap!
