I use http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/home. do with success. You can do your homework on the website then go ask for more discount at the counter.

Just use:
http://www.discounttire.com/

I've had good rssults with them as well in terms of price. Though I still think Les Schwab has the best customer service.

True, but... 1) DiscountTire will beat them on price (if they don't do it without trying, bring them a quote and they will); 2) CostCo will only mount stock tire sizes for your vehicle. i.e., they won't put 33's on a 4Runner.

Does Discount Tire give free road hazard/free rotations and balancing at no extra cost like Costco?

Yes to rotations, Yes to (truely free) pro-rated hazard replacement, Yes to "free" no-questions 3yr replacement at $22/tire (that's "as good as free", considering we're talking about $180/tire and better than CostCo's warranty).

But does it matter when all you can get mounted at CostCo are the stock sized tires? Or, buying the tires at CostCo and paying someone else to mount them (which I think voids CostCo's warranty)?

Is balancing free? Discount sounds like a decent deal. My tires were bought at Costco....$500 for Bridgestone Dueller AT 31X10.5 and I thought it was a fair deal. No, they won't mount oversized tires on your rig....... Maybe if they were off the vehicle.

I guess the Internet must be broken where you live? I'm getting answers to your questions from their site, and the link's been given three times...

anyway...

For $11/tire, you get mounting and spin balancing for life.

Discount doesn't (seem to) carry Bridgestone, but this is what 4 31x10.5 BFG MT's price out as:

I' m at work and almost anything vehicle related is filtered including that site. This is one of the few vehicle related sites I can view. You didn't include balacing in your previous post and that is why I asked.

Costco told me they would mount/balance them, but couldn't install them on the vehicle. I assume this meant they wouldn't rotate them either. I ended up getting mine at NTB. (No Discount Tire out here )

Try this guy:
Ron's Wholesale Tire Service
10971 Dale Ave
Stanton, CA 90680-2723
(714) 484-0904

He's located just north of Katella (near Beach Blvd)

I bought my Kumho's from him (had to special order them) and he had great service and a reasonable price. Just call him first and explain what you're looking for.

Rotations
Balance
Road Hazards...

These are all pretty much industry standard with all the big places. The last time I got tires (discount tires co.) they showed me a chart of all the major competitors and their after-purchase services - they're all the same. I think the extra $ per tire for Discount Tire Co. that is pro-rated no questions asked tire replacement is kind of their extra oomph.
