Need Satellite radio help pronto

Hey, I just picked up a new "brain" for my XM ready pioneer head unit. The "brain" is basically the tuner that recieves the XM signal for those of you that don't know what the brain is. Anyway, I need advise on where to mount the antenna, and where you guys did.

Where should I mount the antenna, and how do I route it there?

Where did you mount your "brain"?

Also, be sure to let me know what kind of rig you installed it in. Mine is a 1994 4Runner. And if tou have Sirius, that's cool, too, because a satellite radio antenna is a satellite radio antenna. All ideas are welcome.

I'm planning on installing this later today, so the quicker the responses come, the better for all of us.

And I say better for all of us, because if I don't get many responses, and I mount it, and it looks like crap, you will all have to look at it.

Thanks.

That's an interesting idea, I'm wondering how the heck I'm going to mount the antenna on the roof. I'm trying to figure how to mount it through the back somehow, without drilling through the roof...if that is possible to avoid. The rear of the roof seems to give the best signal. I have the roll up window, and I'm wondering if there is a way to route the antenna cord through the rear window(the top part).

From what I gathered from your install, you just undid some of the screws on that piece in the back, and stuffed the wire in there with a credit card.

Also, How did you route it to the back? Did you use the floor, or the roof?

mine's mounted on the hood and runs through a grommet in the firewall to my deck. nice and easy, no wires running through the rig, it's all kept under the dash. make sure the little rubber feet are intact, the hard bottom of the antenna will scratch like a madman.

Any pics of what the antenna looks like on your hood?

My antenna runs on the floor (down the side) with all the other factory wiring. It follows the factory wiring all the way to the back.
Don't remove the plastic piece around the window, just push the antenna wire in with a credit card.

I'm not quite getting how you did that... Do you have any pics of where you put the wire?

I took off the plastic trim along the door sills, front and back door, and then lifted up the carpet and ran the antenna cable.
