How much did you pay for your 4runner?

1986 4runner, 0 rust anywhere. Came with good 31s. Engine was blown up and disassembled in the bed of the truck.
Paid $800 originally
Guy delivered it for $150. So 950 total.
I put a couple hundred in it and sold it to a friend for $1000
I just repurchased it back for $1000 and got it running like new.
Wouldn't sell it for less than 3k now

cheap '88 4runner
just got an '88 SR5 manual a few months ago, paid $750...
came with:
new 22re with 90K on it, installed this past April
mint frame out of Cali (see how long it lasts in New England)
new everything (hoses, belts, starter, alternator, exhaust, battery, etc.)
just needed a rear blinker fix and horn plate to pass inspection, running well so far...

I traded a 95 Chevrolet Camaro V6 5speed for mine! I traded my 1987 Shortbed Chevy with a blown motor for the car and got this beautiful 1993 3.0L Automatic 4x4! almost no rust and everything works! Has 198k but it still runs great! been having to do alot of maintence but I love this thing for only owning it after 2 weeks! Plus it always looks bad ass covered in mud!

91 4runner; 283000 miles, new 31" tires, new front end, a/c isn't working for some unknown reason, sunroof is cracked and a few minor dents, $1,750.00, then another $320.00 for a new set of 31" buckshots with aluminum rims. The wife was NOT at all interested in it to begin with but now she is loving the time she and I are spending with the family in it hunting, fishing, just riding around and or either working on it...and hope to be working on it a lot soon but I am also remodeling a jon boat for us to duck hunt out of this coming winter and I need to finish it before I start on anything else.....as I type this she text's me and informs me that her dad thinks the slave and or master cylinder just went out so I guess we will work on it tomorrow. Its always something but there isn't anything a few rednecks and some cold beers cant figure out.

Great Shoe.
Why don't you put up a build thread and start taking photos. The 86 to 95 Truck and 4Runner build section really needs more 2nd Gen 4Runner threads.
Good luck and have fun.

I intend to do that hopefully in the near future. I've been looking at your thread for several months now and was actually going to take pieces of yours and several others and apply to mine. I've got to get my boat finished first so I can get it out of my barn so i can get my 4 runner in there.
I will try and get some photos up in the next few days.

Best part of this forum, learn from others mistakes. Make sure you take a photo of your barn. I want a barn one day.
My missus was not interested at all but has enjoyed wheeling and loves the expedition stuff.

I will try and get some pictures up in the near future. I just recently joined the website and have to post 15 posts etc...before I can start my own build. I hope to have my boat finished in the next few weeks and I will add a john boat build...LOL Just kidding.
I will start one soon as I can. Thanks for accepting me to the sight.

No worries buddy. This is a friendly forum. Hopefully you're going to like it here.
I've learnt so much here from some good people. Quite a few here meet up for wheeling. Hope to get in on one of those runs one day.

I paid $3,500 for my 1996 V6 4Runner, Auto w/80,000 miles? I don't remember that part well, nothing wrong ran excellent when I bought it. Got it off my parent, no freerides but screaming deal!
