Question How are free inspections?

I just booked an appointment with my local Toyota dealer because I noticed an ad in the paper for free 55 point inspections. I figured I can't go wrong. However, I was wondewring what to expect from the results, I mean I figure they will try to presure me into things I don't need, I'm also no mechanic so I don't want to get suckered if you know what I mean. Has anyone else got a free inspection before? Thanks in advance.

x2! yeah, if they don't hit you with an initial fee, i'm sure they'll "suggest" something that you should let them do. i say buy one of the chilton or haynes manuals and read up a lil bit, as that will help you determine if what they say is really needed or not. just my 2 cents...

free inspection are meant to drive dollars up in the service department.if its truly free what the heck if they do suggest something needs to be done.their not gonna hold a gun to your head & make you do it.

free is free.
expect that you will NEED at least 3 things that they will find wrong/broken/etc.
if you feel comfortable paying for things you dont need (even if its gonna need it soon) then youll be OK.

find out what they say you need, then SEARCH for those things before giving them a penny.

make sure they wash it too thats the only reason i bring mine in
