I dunno. Try some Toyo's . I think you'd still want a wider tire, to improve handling and stability. Or you could try Costco, and see what deals they have on tires there. Good luck.

michelin ltx m/s. they last a long time and are a great on-road tire. they might be out of your price range though, not too sure.

Try Tire Rack. Under $150 should not be problem.

would be nice if you could get one of those new diesel accords they have in Europe that get like 90mpg.

That would be ideal. A truck with a 2L-T (i think that's what it is) that would be nice.

x2, great tires. Have at least 75k on them on my work van and still going strong.

Michelin would definitely be your best bet. My mom has some Michelin's on her Pilot and they're great. She got the "Cross Terrains" and they're awesome. I think they're supposed to last around 50k. They're a little bit more of aggressive tire than your standard Michelin too...the LTX M/S's are great tires.

Costco would be a great place to look...we don't have Costco's around here but we do have Sam's Club and they have great prices on tires.

Good luck,

Fink

I just swapped some Avon Ranger TSE's for some Goodyear MT/R's, the Avons were nice and quiet, and even handled some mild off-roading well. Cheap, too, if I remember right.

Another vote for Michelin LTX m/s. After years of the cheap stuff we finally got a set of them for the Bronco II in '99. Huge difference in handling, traction and lots of mileage....they're still on the truck and finally getting to the treadwear bars. I've been so impressed I got them for the 4runner as well. They do like to throw gravel, though I'm not on it enough for it to be a problem.
They've been well worth the extra expense.

the next thing is what size i have 16" rims a 22re 5speed and stock 4.10 gears

the Michelin LTX m/s are allmost all load rating E
about the only ones i can find that arn't are the 235/85/r16's
or i can stick with the 245/75/r16 which is what i have on there now

i want some thing with some size but i don't want to slow the truck down any more

Yokohama geolander AT-S is the tire you need!! they are street/ at tires. they have GREAT reviews and are half the price of Michelins.. i drive the same amount as you and i am going to go with the Kumho AT (kl-78's) bc of price but the yokos are my second choice for sure.. if you want a wider tire for stability bc i have the 245/75/16's also my next size will either be 265/70/16's (same size as what you have but an inch wider) or the 265/75/16's which are one inch wider and taller than the 245/75/16
