Question How big of a tire fits under the bed?

I'm in the process of doing a SAS on my 95 pickup (still in the teardown phase). I plan on ruinning 35's when I'm done but I need to know if the spare will fit under the truck. I could remove the bars that hold the stock spare in position but would that allow the new spare to be held securely?

Would the new shocks (Bilsteins) and shock mounts get in the way? Is installing it in the bed the only option?

(Need a spare because it's also a DD)

A 35 will not fit under the bed. Stick it in the bed.

my buddy fit a 33 under, but it was tight, and the tire got all messed up after a few months.

Even a 31 is tight. No way a 35 will fit unless you are running a square tire.

33x9.50 or 10.50 fits fine underneath:

Folks have fit a 35 underneath, let the air out of the tire and use a ratchet strap to collapse the tire into a square shape (this will make it hang down farther.

My 33 will fit, but you may have to move the exhaust - it's pretty close, depends on exactly where yours ends up.

My question is, why would you do a SAS (presumably to gain ground clearance and flex), and then ruin it by having a tire in the way?

x2 for putting it in the bed.

Sheesh man, read what he posted. He was asking why someone would reduce their ground clearance AFTER a SAS by putting a hanging down spare tire under there. It has nothing to do with SAS vs IFS.

Quit looking for a fight.

And now we start with the insults. Are we back in grade school here? "Are you his gay lover" Seriously?

You need to grasp the concept between bashing a SAS, and helping people decide if its right for them. Not everyone needs a SAS.

Anyways, lets get back on topic. Its quite rude to derail a topic (which you have done in several threads) just to follow tc around and bash on his opinions. Take it to PM's.
