Highlander sunroof drain tubes - where are they?
'06 Highlander with factory sunroof. Front passenger drain is plugged and backs up.
Bottom line up front: What panels need to be removed to get access to the drain tubes below the windshield pillar? The interior kick panels? Or the wheel well liner?
I've run a trombone brush down the tube, and gotten a little further with a long piece of lawn trimmer string (several feet of string - long enough to get well into or past the windshield pillar).
The front drivers drain works fine. I can see the water appears to come out from two points in the chassis pinch welds near the jacking points. No visible tube that I can find. (C'mon, Toyota, are you serious that this is a good design???!!) I tried sticking a stiff nylon wire strap into those holes from the passenger side, but no joy.
So how do I get access to this line? Also, where does the rear line exit? Thanks!
