The Great Ones

Not That They are all not Great! But, How Would You Guys Like to See Toyota Bring Back the Old Stuff, Just Brand New Though! Not Retro Just Brand New Old School Straight Axle Trucks With Maybe Updated Engines and Electronics. I Would Take a Brand New 1985 4Runner Probably Beige or Navy Blue! Maybe a Red or Blue or Beige FJ40, I Would Maybe Sell my House and Get Both :bigclap: I Think the Old Stuff Would Sell Like Hell To. What do You Guys Think? Brand New 82? Oh Yeah, I Would'nt Care if the Engines or Anything Was Updated. I just Thought for The Not So Hardcore Toyota People out there that Would make them Happy. The New FJ is Super Cool! I Would Probably Rather have The FJ40 Body Style Though! More Character.

I say bring back the old school stuff 100% original......all the way down to the 80's stripes

If it doesn't have the 22r series motor, than I don't want any part of it!!!! At least that's what I told the salesman who was trying to sell me a truck while I was waiting for parts.

No, thanks. I've posted here before that inflation adjusted, a new Taco 4X4 standard cab 2.7L 5M/T w/air bags, ABS, EFI, yada-yada is hundreds less than a 1st Gen HiLux and has a much stronger warranty, crash ratings, load carrying capacity, power, torque, versatility, economy, emissions and durability than any previous generation. It's romantic to think otherwise, and I drove a 1st Gen 4X4 (#2 off the line), but c'mon, the world changed for the better. Still wouldn't mind a SFA though.

Yeah, but the older ones are so much more modable. So that sweetens the deal for some.

I hear ya tho...and I sure appreciate the newer (tho now not that new) features and comforts of my 2002, yet like that it can still handle some decent wheelin.

I would love to have a brand new '81 truck
But stock is plain so I am just building mine to suit

if toyota was smart they would at least offer a solid axle stock as an option

What I Like Best is the Tacky Sub-Woofer Box! That Should Appeal to Everyone. Give me a Brand New 1985 4Runner! Keep the Nitto's and Speaker Boxes.

I think a new 22RE with VVT-i would be very cool.
